Rosary Makers

Our Lady’s Rosary Makers was founded in 1949 by Brother Sylvan Mattingly, C.F.X. This Xaverian Brother taught people to make rosaries on the premise that they would make rosaries and distribute them freely to missionaries. Our Mission here at St. Peter’s, set forth by Brother Sylvan, is to provide a rosary to those in need.

Our Rosary Makers here at St. Peter’s provide mission rosaries to be distributed around the world.  In 2018, St Peter’s Rosary Makers made over 2,200 rosaries and 60 chaplets which were distributed to some of the following recipients: Marine Recruits in Paris Island SC, Fr. George in Kerala, India; The National Shrine of Devine Mercy in Stockbridge Massachusetts; Fr. Frechette in Brownsville, Texas, for immigrant teenagers in Brownsville (which is a border town to Mexico); Br. Goretti from Maryknoll Retired Missionaries in New York and the list goes on.  These are just a few of the places our rosaries are distributed.
