What is a Holy Hour of Adoration?
Adoration is when the Blessed Sacrament is exposed and adored by the faithful along with prayer and quiet time for reflection and meditation.
Here at St. Peter's, when you arrive at the church, you are handed a votive candle to be placed in the sanctuary as a symbol of your personal prayer intention. Taize chant music led by our Chant Choir draws you into a deeper sense of prayer and meditation.
The Eucharist (also called the Blessed Sacrament or the Body of Christ) is placed in a Monstrance on the altar for all to see, worship and adore.
When exposure and adoration are twenty-four hours a day, it is called Perpetual Adoration.
